"Rebuilding a legacy."

Crawfordville Enterprise was the brainchild of Randolph T. Blackwell to stop the transition of Blacks leaving the rural town for jobs in the Cities. He wanted to create jobs for Blacks where they lived. He approached the recently dismissed educators, of Taliaferro County with this idea and using the former Log Cabin School in the Springfield Community they started a sweing plant. "

Their “plant” is an old, hand- hewn log building near here that was built by Taliaferro Negroes before the State of Georgia provided them with a school and, before the federal government told them they could go to the white school."
